I’ve been getting so frustrated lately because I just can’t seem to use my hair products correctly; I mean, no matter what I do my hair always seems heavy, weighed-down, kind of greasy and yuck. I really want the kind of volume someone like Jennifer Lopez seems to effortlessly achieve… So I’ve done a bit of a run-around the market and found some professional hairstyling tips.

Check them out and see what you think.
1. No matter what the product (shampoo, conditioner, mousse)

Use the right one for your hair type. So don’t go raiding your sister’s sticky left overs! Always ask your hairstylist for advice and get the good stuff for your hair instead.

2. All hair products leave a residue on the hair

So just like the way you detox your body after a night on the wine use a detox shampoo for your locks.

3. Don’t hold your hairspray too close or it’ll coat your hair thickly and you’ll risk looking like a crazy big helmet-head.

About 9 inches distance is fine.

4. You only need a small amount of shampoo, especially if you’re using a professional product (because they’re generally richer).

A dollop of about 1 inch in diameter is more than enough.

5.The key to applying your conditioner is to distribute it evenly from mid-lengths to ends.

A wide-toothed comb is the ideal tool for this process. (Keep one in the shower).

6. Heat protection spray is essential if you use heated styling products like hair straighteners, but don’t use too much!

Divide your hair into a few areas and just pump a couple of sprays on each area.

7. “Less is more” is the rule of thumb with the kinds of products that aim to add texture and shine (molding cream, clay, wax etc.).

Start with a little, say about the size of a quarter, warm with your hair dryer and add more as needed.

8. Rinse, rinse, rinse! You’d be surprised how dull, weighed-down hair is often the result of simply not rinsing out your shampoo and conditioner well enough.

Spend less time daydreaming (like me) and rinse those locks thoroughly.

9. Get your mousse right. I remember seeing my mum piling it so high in her hand each morning it looked like fairy floss. That’s crazy!!

If you have medium length hair you only need about a golf ball amount.

10. Say no to that extra bottle of wine on the weekend. Put the money towards decent hair products instead.

and save the cheap stuff for high school kids

Take care of yourself until next time, MJ signing off!

Hair brings one’s personality into focus. Probably, that is why we spend so much time and money on taking care of our hair because we know what strikes a good reputation. Styleablaze is the right place to guide you through getting a striking perky look for any season. Today, we bring winters in focus

For every season, our hair needs are different and well, of course really important, if you want to keep your hair looking beautiful and lustrous. However, during winter season, your hair is affected in the worst ways.

To beat these winter problems, follow the hair tips Styleablaze has in house for you:

Problem: Having dry, fuzzy ends?

How often to do get your hair trimmed? If not very often, then do so, from now on! Schedule trims devotedly. To prevent a dry, fuzzy and untidy hair look, get a trim after every four to six weeks.

Also, make it a habit of using a generous amount of conditioner to soften and nourish your hair. Conventionally, it is advised to use rather a richer conditioner than you’re the one meant for summers, and also, go for an ultra-moisturising hair mask twice week. You’ll love what it does to your hair!

Problem: Static and flyaway hair harassing you?

Spray on a nice leave-in conditioner before you style up your hair.

This will avoid your hair to look like thunder just hit you and weigh them down nicely and neatly. In case of dry hair, a small amount of shine serum, or spritz on a scanty dose of hairspray. But, in worst static cases, use a static guard spray and comb it through your hair. Enjoy the res of the day static free!

Problem: Worried about the dull look?

If you color your hair

Ask your beautician to add a few highlights for a groovy look or apply a clear gloss to boost up a shiny, radiant look

In case, you are not a dye-person, simply use a shine enhancer gel or cream, containing silicone, before finally deciding how you want to style your hair.

No more bad hair days because Styleablaze has saved another winter from being ruined!

"OMG! You got the most beautiful hair I’ve ever seen…" Isn’t this what your ears wish to hear alllll the time? But, with that daily hair fall you are experiencing, this wish would never become a reality…at least not sooner.

Beautiful hair bestows you with a sense of confidence. You can not only try the latest hair styles, but also feel self-assured and leave them untied, letting the wind kiss your locks. Unfortunately hair fall puts a stop to these intense needs of yours.

Many of us may have innate hair fall or baldness. Hair fall is tear-jerking factor for both men and women. No one wishes to be seen with falling hairs. It becomes embarrassing to face the world with this abominable predicament.

You have bared enough already, so get ready to deal with this vile unease. Here are few easy tips to lessen hair fall:

As much as you can, it is better to prevent your hairs from chemicals. But if necessary, don’t apply chemicals on your hair without an expert’s help or advice. With you being inexperienced, you can over apply the color and the chemicals they possess can damage the hair texture.

Eat healthy to have healthy hair; drink plenty of water, eat leafy vegetables, fruits, fish, eggs, drink fresh juices of spinach, carrot, capsicum, and avoid sugar, etc and avoid having vitamins A and E excessively. That, too, can cause adverse effects. We can’t afford more problems, can we?

If you notice excessive or sudden hair fall, see your doctor for hair treatment as some diseases such as diabetes, fungal infections etc, and certain medicines also a play a significant role in hair fall.

Don’t try just any hair style, for the mere reason that it’s in! All trends may not be healthy for your hairs. If the hair fall persists, you don’t want the ‘in’ thing make you avoid going ‘out’ forever.

Never tie your hairs too tight or use rubber bands for long hours.

Wash your hairs habitually and use conditioners.

Wear hats during athletics activities.

Hormonal changes cause hair fall after pregnancy. That’s not a frightening factor. With a healthy diet, you can recover the loss in no time.

Every healthy person loses 50 – 100 hairs daily and it is normal.

Only to lessen hair fall will not be enough. Speed up the growth of your hairs to minimize your difficulties. Here are some home remedies to aid you for getting healthy and beautiful hairs rapidly:

* Heat 50ml coconut hair. Mix it with garlic juice of three garlic flakes and four crushed peppercorns. Cool it naturally. Massage it in hairs regularly.

* Prepare the mixture of almond oil, olive oil and castor oil in equal proportion and massage it into the hairs.

* Add one spoon each of honey and cinnamon powder in 20ml olive oil. Mix well. Apply prepared paste on the scalp for 30 minutes and rinse it off. Repeat it after very three days.

* Add 20ml ginger juice in 10ml lime juice. Apply this mixture for 30 minutes and rinse it. Use fresh mixture once in week for four weeks. It will prevent you from allergies (itching, etc) and will accelerate hair growth.
* Massage the crushed garlic cloves in hairs once in two weeks.
* Apply Vera gel on your scalp and massage it.
* Mix Vera gel, coconut milk and any available wheat germ oil for preparing shampoo.
* Mix a raw egg yolk and two teaspoon olive oil and massage this mixture on your scalp once in week.
* Apply a good paste of onion on scalp for one hour. Rinse it and apply lemon juice to eradicate the smell of onion. It is a natural trick to circumvent baldness.

Take good care of yourself.

A friend of mine has pretty long hair flowing all ...

A friend of mine has pretty long hair flowing all the way down her back. Watching her hair, I often wondered, “Gosh! It must be difficult for her to brush her hair.” Well, one has to admit brushing long hair is truly a skilful task, since you need to brush your all your strands right from the roots till the tips. Unable to keep my curiosity, I went up to her one day and asked her how she brushes her hair. She gave me quite an interesting reply. As this is a matter faced by many women out there, hence I decided to share it with you in helping you brush your admiringly long ‘Rapunzel-like’ hair.

To start with, bend forward half way allowing your hair to fall in front of you. Make sure you are using a brush with natural bristles and a wooden. Begin brushing your hair from the nape of the neck over the head all the way down till the hair ends. Afterwards, stand straight again and let the hair fall normally and brush from the bottom of the hairline flowing down the strands till the ends. After that, brush the top layers into place with long and even strokes. After each stroke, smoothen down the hair with hand to diminish the static effect.

Following every week, increase the number of strokes. Start with five strokes and add more stroke to the count every week till you reach a comfortable level. Lest your hair becomes oily more often, reduce the number of strokes.

Also, often people fail to understand that always brush your hair only when they are dry, since hair is very vulnerable for breakage when wet. Thus, brushing wet hair isn’t a good idea at all. Also, remember even when your hair gets dried, don’t move to brushing just yet; instead comb them first.

Bear in mind, the number of strokes entirely depends on the length of the hair. Brushing is essential for the health for your hair. Therefore, to guarantee to promote the health of your hair, use a brush with natural bristles. Brushes made with synthetic bristles or with evenly spaced tines which are perfect for straightening out and styling the hair however natural-bristle brushes facilitate in removing dirt and product build-up and also help in evenly distributing oil along the hair shaft and keeping off excess oil. On the contrary, synthetic brushes cannot nurture the positive health to your hair.

Here are a few additional tips you need to keep up with while brushing your hair:
1.

When combing wet hair, always use a comb with big tooth and watchfully disentangle your hair from end to end to acquire a smoothened look. Avoid too close a contact with your hair roots.

2.

For those with rather shorter hair, prefer to use a Paddington brush which has soft shielding bristles while styling and blow-drying your hair to get the desired look.

3.

Learning this tip will surely bring a smile on those faces which worry about their height. If you want to give yourself an impression of a little more height, then use a pick to tease your hair.

4.

If you have straight hair with medium length, a Paddle brush with soft protective bristles is what you need.

5.

If you have medium length wavy bobs, prefer to use an extra large round brush to set the kinks and curls, giving them a flamboyant look.

6.

Long hair flowing down your shoulders? For you, a thick, loose-toothed brush or a big round ceramic brush would do the trick.

Longer the hair, the more precious they are as hair is a woman’s greatest asset.

Follow our footsteps and discover the difference you want!

We often hear beauty experts suggesting to change your hair ...

We often hear beauty experts suggesting to change your hair shampoo, since the continuous use of the same product can cause build-up on your hair. Thus, every time your bottle of shampoo finishes, buy a different shampoo. While, there are some experts who say that hair getting ‘used to’ shampoos is purely a myth. Now, we have two alternate experts’ suggestions. Nevertheless, a build-up does exist. There is a third way you can choose for to retain the health of your hair and enjoy the benefits of cleaner and sleeker hair.

Various models are thought to use this tip. All you need to do is to layer up different shampoos together in a pump bottle. As a result you get added benefits of different shampoos and don’t stick by just one.

Tip

Simply buy yourself a large pump bottle from a local market or if otherwise, if you have an empty pump bottle of some shampoo or lotion would work. Take 4 different shampoos and pour approximately 1/4 of one shampoo one at a time in the bottle. Next, layer on another 1/4 quantity of a different shampoo and maintain this procedure until the bottle is full.

You will be surprised to notice that the health of your hair retains, while at the same time, you can enjoy a sleeker, cleaner and fuller hair!

Happy shampooing!

The purpose of using a shampoo is to remove dirt, ...

The purpose of using a shampoo is to remove dirt, sebum (oils), and products which build-up from your hair, while maintaining nourishing your hair and scalp.
Today, markets offer great varieties of shampoo brands to put your on finger on. Come to think of it, even those brands come in various types, depending on your hair type. It is vice versa for conditioners. Conditioners add shine, protect hair from drying and damage while allowing smooth hair combing.
This very article will help you choose from the wide options of shampoos and conditioners depending on your hair type.

1. Curly or frizzy hair:

Curly hair or frizzy hair is a kind of dry hair. How? Because, the natural oil produced in the scalp fail to travel all the way down till the hair shaft, which otherwise is the opposite case with straight hair.

Shampoos: Creamy moisturizing shampoos are best suited for curly or frizzy hair texture. When buying a shampoo, make sure the ingredients include wheat germ oil, shea butter and nut oils (macadamia, for example). These aptly form a protective coating around the hair shaft which traps water inside and retains the natural moisture for longer.

Conditioners: For curly or frizzy hair, use a conditioner every time shampoo is applied. When buying a conditioner for yourself, go for an ultra-moisturizing conditioner especially made for your hair type. A hot oil treatment once or twice a month can give delightful results. For extra-dry hair, we recommend an intense moisturizing treatment twice in a month.

Extra tip: Curly hair, if washed daily, loses its natural moisture and become more frizzed and unmanageable. So, it’s better to avoid daily shampoo treatment. Use a conditioner only after shampoo is thoroughly rinsed off from the hair. Let hair dry naturally. Avoid blow drying your hair as they make they make the curls more dry.

2. Straight, Fine, oily, or limp hair:

Straight or fine hair tend to give an ‘oily’ more quickly than any other hair type, even after a day’s wash.
Shampoos: Settle on clear shampoos (NOT creamy ones!). A gentle shampoo is best suitable for your daily or frequent washing. Opt for shampoos which contain panthenol, as according to hair experts, panthenol reach deep into the hair cuticle, making them stronger and thicker. Here is another tip, alternatively use a dry shampoo or talcum powder between washings. Not only will the powder absorb extra oils, but it adds volume to your hair.

Conditioners: Straight hairs normally don’t require a conditioning treatment, since the hair texture is already fine and smooth and pass through the comb without much hassle, compared to curly hair. Conditioners are best for combing out fine hair. Make sure that the product doesn’t come in contact with your scalp. Massage a light-weight conditioner from mid-shaft down and let it stay for a min only. For exceptionally greasy hair, opt for a conditioner which contains oil-absorbing tea-tree oil.

Extra tip: For you, a spray conditioner is best, pertaining to its lightness and the consequent volume it gives to your otherwise limp hair. In addition, your hair unless extra-oily, can do in one shampoo. You don’t require a second shift.

3. Processed hair

Processed hair significantly lack moisture. Regrettably, overly-processed hair may suffer from oily roots but dry shaft and tips. Consequently, washing processed hair is a tricky deal. You want to wash the roots at the same time keep the ends moisturized. We suggest washing hair every other day with a shampoo made for normal hair. Concentrate on cleaning the scalp. Then use a strong conditioner only on the midshaft to ends of hair. Here are other shampoo tips for the following processed hair types:

Colored: According to many hair experts, color-protection shampoos contain gentle cleansers and ingredients which preserve color. While, there are some who maintain that it is best to use gentle cleansing shampoos such as baby shampoo as a substitute of the high-priced dedicated shampoos for colored hair. Since both the suggestions come from experts, thus we would simply say that choose that suits you and your needs. If a pricey shampoo is good for you, then go for it, otherwise there are many products available in the market which contain gentle cleaners and meet your requirements.

Permed or relaxed: Any moisturizing shampoo will work for your hair type but apply it only to the roots and rub it in well and rinse away. Massage hair to remove any dirt and filth when the water is running down the hair shaft. Rinse thoroughly. Use the conditioner in the same manner, conditioning the roots carefully.

Conditioners: For processed hair, buy yourself a rich conditioner and apply it mostly on the hair tips. Avoid conditioners contained with silicone, because they tend remove the color.

Extra tip: Wash your hair only 2 days in w week to prevent them from drying. You can use a dry shampoo. If you’ve died blond, then use a talcum powder, in between different washings.

4. Dry, damaged hair

For you, we would recommend keeping away from clear shampoos and opt for creamy ones. Since they give a smooth and sleek effect, while detangling and diffusing the static effect that builds up.

Conditioners: Keeping moisturizing in mind, you should get yourself an ultra-moisturizing conditioner.

Among the diverse hair styles, choosing your hair style – ...

Among the diverse hair styles, choosing your hair style – in fact, the right hair style – becomes rather difficult for many. Why so? Because, they simply fail to consider whether the hair style they want or have opted for, is according to their face-cut. The result of this overlooked fact is an ugly not-so-appealing hair-cut making you look least attractive.

Many women frequently change their hair styles, trying their best to keep up with the pace of latest fashion trends in the market. At the same time, there are others who prefer to keep their same old styles You can change your hairstyle as often as you want, pertaining to the fact that you keep in check that its according to your face-cuts and your hair color.

For a square face, opt for hair cut with rather long layers if possible one with soft waves or curls is perfect, since it de-accentuates your square jaw line, giving you a striking appearance. Also, prefer to use side parting and keep longer hair at the nape of neck. Centre parting is forbidden for you. Same goes for keeping a straight cut hair surrounding the jaw line and square bangs covering just your forehead.

These featured cuts would only tend to underline your strong structure of a square face even more.

Many experts believe that oval Shape is the perfect face shape, since those with an oval shape have the added benefit of wearing any hair style they want.

Lucky ones, I would say. Oval faces are thought to be perfect for hairstyling and a stylist can afford a lot of styling techniques too. Yet, what could in the way of a beautiful hair style is the quality of hair: thin, lush, wavy, straight, silky etc. Oval faces look admirable with a haircut that adds volume to the top of head and narrows around the forehead. For an elegant look, avoid hair styles with spikes, short topsides or too much volume on the sides.

For a round face, short fringes around the jaw line looks simply adorable. Fringes tend to elongate the face and a short cut makes the face look thinner.

Steer clear of spiky and short topside hair styling and also stay away from any haircut that may add to the width of your face.

If you have a long face, then the best style for you would be one with short layers or even a bob cut with a fringe, as it will create horizontal lines. Nasty curls with a bob cut make you look elegant.

Long faces should be styled up to cover the fullness on sides. Thus, you are predestined to shun from short cuts, jaw-length bobs, or styles that accentuate the long face look.

Ones with a heart shaped face, bangs and a length that frames the jaw line is highly recommended for a good-looking you, while reserve yourself from keeping a short hairstyle at the nape.
