Among exuberant displays by many other local Pakistani fashion designers and international fashion designers from Malaysia, newly emerged fashion designer Emraan Rajput also presented his fascinating collection designed on traditional fashion lines fused with western inspiration. Emraan Rajput’s collection chiefly comprised of formal menswear including shalwar kameez and kurtas with a classic cut. Remarkable embroidery work and salient embellishments added that extra bling to the designs.

Tall men walking down in immaculately designed sherwanis and other formal and occasional menswear was a massive hit and gathered much acclaim to Emraan’s creative brilliance during the 4-day Karachi Fashion Week 2010.

One of the toughest and perhaps the most popular fashion line in Pakistan – in fact – anywhere in the world is wedding line or formal wedding wear, whether it’s for brides or bridegroom. However, a young talent in the field, fashion designer Emraan still beats many for his distinct sense of style and appealing collections.

Emraan Rajput’s collection of formal, semi-formal, casual, hip hop, and wedding wears are all impartially designed, preserving essential elegance and style ensconced within the sleek cuts, fine fabric, and intricate embellishments which outshine his designs.

The exalted Karachi fashion week 2010 was primarily focused on promoting Pakistan’s fashion, textile and apparel industry and highlighting the works of the brilliant fashion designers of the country.

Monica’s work is always a fusion of the East and West, with Eastern embroidery and designs mixed with Western cuts. We, at Styleablaze bring to you Monica’s latest collection which is just right for the glamorous Pakistani woman. It has all the elements to make you look glamorous and feel beautiful.

Monica Paracha is a Pakistani Fashion Designer who has been in the market since 2003 and although her exposure to the London fashion is a lot, her fashion designs are very ‘desi’ or eastern. Most of her outfits are fusion, with a touch of modernity mixed with the typical ghararas and shararas that she’s fond of making. You will see that the colors she has used are bright and typically eastern like the blue outfit and a lot of reds and pinks.

Most of the work on her clothes is traditional hand embroidery, which is a basic design element of the sub-continent. Also the presence of paisleys and detailed beadwork make it eastern. The beadwork is very fine and beautifully done with extreme care to tiny details in the embroidery. She uses stones, Swarovski, crystal and zardozi work on her clothes and mix it up with European cuts, which make it appealing for the woman of today.

Monica’s showcased her collection on the second day of the event. Andres Aquino was the Choreographer.

Her collection is indication that gowns, anarkali frocks, ang-rakhas and such purely traditional cuts are in fashion and seem like they’re here to stay along with the evergreen sari, with which you can never go wrong. Styleablaze thinks that loose, flowing and traditional seems to be the fashion statement of the year as suggested by Pakistani Fashion Designer Monica Paracha.

This latest collection of hers is called ‘Mahsuri’ which is actually the name of the lead charcter of a girl in a famous Malaysian legend by the same name. As the legend goes, Mahsuri is a girl who was accused by the people of her village to have a bad character and that she lured men to sinful ways. She was murdered for that and when her blood flowed out of her body, it was white in color. This signifies her purity inside, but was misunderstood. Kirana’s basic signature colors are red, black and white –each signifying Mahsuri’s characteristics, red for her bravery, black for her bitter life and white for her purity. Even in this collection, Kirana has used these basic colors a lot as well as the face of a woman with beautiful hair and pretty face, printed on her clothes. This collection is uniquely ‘Kirana’ and has a womanly feel to it, which is a level above being simply feminine. It is high street fashion and chic because of its cuts and lines in the skirts and dresses. It looks like it belongs on a high end party and worn by a woman who is sure about herself.

It is daring to wear figures of women and trees in some cases, but it looks amazing! Definitely a daring thing to wear, Kirana’s collection is meant for the woman who is simplistic yet has a glamorous aura. Her work is made in dark, bold colors like black, red, orange and has womanly warmth about them.

Pakistani top fashion models including Nadia Hussain, Iraj, Suneita Marshal, Faiza Hasan, Rubab, Rabia Chaudhry, Konan, Maha Mehak and Saima alongwith other international fashion models from Malaysia and Bangladesh namely Anita Aziz, Fazdlun Abas, Eryna Salim, Tengku Azura, Laura, Aleeza Kasim, Emi, Namyrah and Ruhee walked the ramp at Karachi Fashion Week 2010.

Amir Luqman is a Malaysian Fashion Designer who has showcased his collection for the first time in Pakistan at the grand Karachi Fashion Week 2010. This was the second Karachi Fashion Week held in Pakistan and despite the security concerns, the event organizers Triple E did an applaudable job in making the event a huge success. Karachi Fashion week is a platform where designers from all over the world are given a chance to showcase their designs and collections to the Pakistani audience and designers.

Being Malaysian, his designs have a Malaysian touch in them which have been finessed to an elegance smartly mixed with boldness. The blend of elegance with bold cuts is done superbly by this new designer and his designs will appeal to those women who love to stand out in a crowd.

Obviously, he loves using a lot of fabric especially net, which he has used profusely in the collection. I like how he’s used net to cover, YET show some skin…it looks discrete yet very sexy. He has played with a lot of bold and metallic colors in the collection. His collection does not have a lot of heavy beadwork or embellishments, its minimal in that context, and is more focused on chic cuts that show off his preppy style. His designs are extravagant, bold and full of zeal.

This collection is meant to be worn on grand celebrity functions, but of course you can wear it on other formal occasions too!

Fahad Hussayn’s Collection “LOVE IS WORTH THE FALL” – as he preferred to call it – was a blend of both Eastern attire and Western ideology infused within his personal style. Primarily, the entire collection was had a black mood with traces of red, gold and light blue. The dresses built a perfect collage of Eastern work westernized with edgy accessories such as the large black ostrich feathered hats. While the menswear, presentably had inimitable markings and exquisite embroidery scattered along the outfit and shifted in style.

The women’s collection was no less than an interesting revolution – from feline black off-the-shoulder dresses to a veiled black bridal gown and sensual halterneck gowns.
