Creativity needs no words. Anumpama Dayal proved it so at this year’s Lakme Fashion Week with her rather LYRICAL COLLECTION OF FASHION POETRY FOR FALL/WINTER 2009.
It was a living version and vivid inspiration taken from Lord Tennyson’s poem ‘The Last Eater’. It was elegance weaved in with classiness in the sexy silhouettes along with a hint of insights in embellishments echoing the beauty of Faberge eggs, Persian textiles and the atmosphere of winter gardens in Delhi.
The fabrics used were brocades from Banares, jacquards, chiffon, georgettes, Lurex, satin and Dupion silks as the models catwalked in the utterly gorgeous shades of topaz, amber, garnet, ruby, sapphire, turquoise, emerald, lapis lazuli and alexandrite. Creating a stylish practical line, Anupama had a concoction of tunics, skirts, harem pants, elegant gowns, day and cocktail dresses and some stunning saris.
The collection was a mélange of the East and West fused together to present a perfect fashion scene for Fall/Winter 2009.
