Brown hues
We saw a lot of makeup done in shades and hues of brown on the ramp this season, and it looked great! Beige shimmery eyeshade with brown eyeliner and slight blush-on is a great day look. Brown tends to soften up your face, especially if your skin tone ranges from fair to wheat-ish. Don’t overdo the matte look on the lips, even though it has been seen on the ramps, but be very careful with matte lipsticks because it can also make you look caked up and artificial, but if it’s done well, it’s the perfect look for the winters.
A colorful chunky scarf
Wrap a little color around your neck, keep warm and do it fashionably with a bright scarf to bring some color to the usually neutral colored winter wardrobe. I’m mentioning ‘chunky’ here, because oversized, long ones are definitely ‘in’ this winter, so if you’re going for a bright color, let it grow a little wild too ;)
Untamed mane
This season is definitely not for the goodie-two shoes because it’s all about letting your hair grow long so you can leave them open. You don’t even have to straighten them like a pin, juts leave them if you have natural waves, or use some mousse to create slight beach waves in your hair. Tousled and untamed but definitely not ‘messy’ is the look you would want to sport in winter ’09-’10. Even if you want to make a braid or tie it up, leave some tendrils of waves around your face and just tie loosely.
Suede Boots
Suede boots are most important accessory for winters, especially since skinny jeans are still in. They look gorgeous with skinny jeans or even with a skirt, dress. Expensive, but they can be worn with almost everything, casual or even semi-formal, especially since thigh-high boots are all the rage this winter, you can wear them with your basic black dress.

Friends, Chitter-chatter and a Hot Cup of coffee
Now of course you need a place to flaunt your winter wardrobe. I’d suggest you choose your favorite coffee spot in the city, the one with the perfect coffee and that puts on your favorite kind of music. Soft rock with a warm brownie does the trick for me, and if you have company then that’s would do for a perfect winter evening.
